marriage

This is more asking for an opinion rather than advice, but if a guy talks about marriage with you, not just about marriage in general but about your hypothetical marriage, it probably means he feels it's at least a possibility, right? We are both of marrying age (though young-- in our 20s) and live together.

Hi...

Yes, it sounds like he's put some thought into it. Just don't get your hopes up for an engagement ring too soon. Some women set themselves up for disappointment. or they suddenly put the pressure on their guy without realizing it. He also might get scared and back off after he's made a motion about marriage. So just take it slow and if you're feeling the same way, then great!

thanks :) yeah I definitely get the sense it's not something that is going to happen in the immediate future, but it seems like it's something he thinks could happen down the line a bit.

I think at the very least it means he has considered it as a real possibility. And since he has discussed it with you, he probably (at least currently) feels that it is a potential future.

I agree w/ Becky though, he may not be in a particular hurry to get the process started.

But I have to say, that for most men, even talking about it is a pretty big sign of commitment to a relationship :)
