A friend was encouraging me to put some of my pictures in the Orange County (CA) Faire. I was thinking about it until I read their rules.

1. Single exposure image only.
2. High Dynamic Range images ok.
3. Moderate Corrections in Photoshop ok.

Rule #2 voids the other rules. HDR pictures are usually done with at least three exposures merged together. ( Read more... )

Yup. Too much, "make it look like what you want it to in the camera" to do image stacking and manipulation. I've got Lightroom and Photoshop Elements and all I do is crop and re-size for printing.

Most of the HDR images look fake or at best obviously manipulated. I may do one or two just to have the experience.
