On sunday I have CoP static on FF, and I tell my parents I don't want to miss it for obvious reasons. CoP is tough shit and I really suck at getting stuff done.

I had to go see my dad, but I told him just one more half hour.
One more half hour I'd go. Go visit my aunt. She was really sick but the doctors said she'd pull through and live for another ( Read more... )

It's never expected. Even when we knew my grandfather had less than a month, that he was on his last week, we couldn't possibly expect it. We saw it coming, saw its inevitability, but we couldn't help but think everything might be OK.

And I didn't or couldn't move on; it changed me in the same way as all the others I was close to.

In the end, time was all I had on. Months and years.

Thanks for sharing that experience. Reminds me of my Grandmother's death. Expecting it sort of made it worse in a way that all the tension stacked up against us that when she finally passed away it was horrible.

I think we're all just still stunned, it's awful, but in a different way that's makes us all glad we're busy taking care of things.
