Not that it's unpredicted-- for Fox or for Barrowman. But John is miffed that Fox is considering *making Jack Harkness straight*. Yep.
You can't have a straight Jack Harkness. You can have a new character who is played by a different actor and has a different life. You can have a series that is related to Cardiff's Torchwood, but different, where the head of Torchwood LA or something is some tormented, swashbuckling hetero womanizer (although I think Fox has tried something similar, but with terrorists rather than aliens, and named it "24"). But you can't have a heterosexual Jack Harkness. He already exists in established cannons for two independent series as omnimeteroyesplease-sexual.
A straight Jack Harkness. That's like... like... a stupid Doctor. A materialistic Buddha. A violent Gandhi. A brilliant Fox TV executive.
