On one hand, I think this is a nice and good thing and girl gamers are under-represented and yay team femme whatever blah blah.

On the other hand, if a girl writes an interesting, well written, well thought out, engaging piece.. why not publish it in a regular roleplaying 'zine? What does gender have to do with RPGs, and why the 'by women for women' stuff? Isn't the aim to get this stuff out to as many interested people as possible in the most readable way? I don't know that splitting the 'scene' up any more than it already is is going to accomplish anything.

Its always a bit touch and go with these sorts of things - on one hand, yeah, they split things into "men's roleplaying" and "women's roleplaying", which can be stupid. (you know my feeling on most sex-segregated stuff)

On the otherhand, sometimes they can provide a bit more support and enthusiasm to someone who wasn't actually going to get around to writing a piece, especially if that person is from a group that maybe isn't well represented. They can act as an inspiration - "oh, someone _is_ interested in what I have to say on the topic?". I think you have to evaluate each one of these sorts of things on its merits.

I've had endless trouble trying to get women - *good* roleplayers - to be more involved in roleplaying, whether its gming or writing or just making themselves visible. Thus, the postingness.
