"Just when I thought I was out...

they pull me back in!"

So, recently, I have been tapped to provide support, on a level normally reserved for those higher up the food chain, on a couple of occasions.
At first, I was appreciative of the opportunity to prove that I could do these things, (training new managers, re-training wayward crews, etc.). Then, I realized that I was simply doing someone else's job, one that they get paid much more to do. After a little research, I discovered that the primary reason was that the person who should perform these duties was doing yet another person's job.

And what, pray tell, was that person doing?

Apparently, co-ordinating the eventual takeover of operations from my employer to another corporate entity. The "Big Bullseye" is going to run all of the photo labs in their stores, instead of contracting the work out to the company I work for.

The outlook is not too shabby. Those whose opinions matter in such things have already made an effort to recruit me to run the lab for them. For more $$. Just less latitude. And I'd have to wear red.

In other news, faeriedaemon has gotten this:

stuck in my head. Thanks, dear.
