Characters: Caim, Zalbag Beoulve
Date: Tonight
Summary: Caim needs some advice. Zalbag is pretty awesome about giving it as well.
Warnings: None, really.
"Caim" (11:53:28 PM): Lord Zalbag.
"Lord Zalbag" (11:53:47 PM): Lord Caim?
"Caim" (11:54:49 PM): I must ask of your assistance. I come off as a child to you, I am certain, and yet it is absolutely necessary.
"Lord Zalbag" (11:55:21 PM): I do not mind one bit, Lord Caim. True as it may be, I question what is going on in your life as of current. What can I do for you?
"Caim" (11:55:50 PM): In Ivalice, do you but hear of betrothals for those of regal nature?
"Lord Zalbag" (11:58:21 PM): It is a common occurance in Ivalice, yes. It is also common that knights betroths royalty.
"Caim" (11:59:35 PM): Then our lands of origin have a similarity. My late paternal and maternal units were responsible for placing my sister, when she was a free woman, into a betrothal to a man she does not love. Is... it in my ability as her brother, and as the heir to the kingdom to save her of this fate?
"Caim" (11:59:50 PM): Or... could it be that acting upon my own wishes would render this action impure?
"Lord Zalbag" (12:04:22 AM): In Ivalice, royalty are free to wed whomever they wish. Though I know not of your land of origin. If she were not in love with the man she is to marry, mayhap she has the right to refuse.
"Caim" (12:04:46 AM): Then it is not my decision to make.
"Lord Zalbag" (12:07:20 AM): decision?
"Caim" (12:09:56 AM): ...Yes. As in, I have no right to tell my sister what she should or should not do.
"Lord Zalbag" (12:10:37 AM): You should, however, be free to suggest to her how you feel.
"Caim" (12:11:30 AM): ...
"Caim" (12:11:46 AM): I do not wish to influence her based on my feelings. She said something very... similar to that, however.
"Caim" (12:12:03 AM): She told me that because I am the one who holds her heart, that I do have but a say in what she chooses to do.
"Lord Zalbag" (12:15:43 AM): You may very well do. In retrospect, she has yet a grasp on her own heart. It may do her well to make her own decisions.
"Caim" (12:16:18 AM): I wish for her to make her own decisions. Like you would for Ramza, however, I am unable to place aside my concerns for her.
"Lord Zalbag" (12:19:22 AM): May I ask why?
"Caim" (12:20:02 AM): She is my sister, Zalbag. She is the woman I willingly lay my life down for. Surely you can understand.
"Lord Zalbag" (12:20:48 AM): Ahh, yes. Forgive me for my ignorance. Though... what sorts of concerns do you behold towards her?
"Caim" (12:21:41 AM): Her safety, of course. And my own selfish concerns, as I am hardly perfect.
"Lord Zalbag" (12:22:16 AM): You are only a hume, Lord Caim. All of us hath selfish needs, wants, and concerns.
"Caim" (12:23:03 AM): This... I will not deny. It is far within my grasp, however, for me to assume I am the better man. It may be considered inaccurate.
"Lord Zalbag" (12:27:49 AM): There are those who truly believe themselves to be the better man. I once held a mentality as such.
"Caim" (12:28:23 AM): If I truly believed such, I would hastily take Furiae for myself.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:11:58 AM): Forgive me for my lack of response...
"Caim" (1:12:39 AM): No. Not at all. I had assumed you were... preoccupied.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:28:50 AM): Somewhat, I suppose....
"Caim" (1:29:09 AM): It cannot be helped. Though speaking with you is refreshing.
"Caim" (1:29:26 AM): My younger sister seems fond of speaking of... unconventional subjects this evening.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:30:19 AM): Speaking of these unconventional subjects seems to be a bit taxing on you.
"Caim" (1:30:48 AM): A little. It... is at times difficult to remember that she is no longer a child and therefore has the desires of a woman.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:31:22 AM): I can sympathize. Much like what happened with Ramza.
"Caim" (1:31:36 AM): Except you were not in love with Ramza.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:32:20 AM): I suppose I wasn't....
"Caim" (1:33:02 AM): My sister is an envious woman, quick to stir, and she did many times in our discussions of Alexandra the night prior with others.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:33:42 AM): I see...
"Lord Zalbag" (1:34:00 AM): In retrospect, if she is to make her own decisions, you're to make your own as well...
"Caim" (1:34:15 AM): ....... What do you mean, Lord Zalbag?
"Lord Zalbag" (1:35:29 AM): In which, if you decide to see this Alexandra maiden and your sister is against this decision, she has naught say in it.
"Caim" (1:36:18 AM): My sister's envy stems from any potential romantic interest I may have in Alexandra, which is nonexistent. Though she seems to believe Alexandra has additional interest in me.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:45:29 AM): Mayhap that be true. Though this can only be seen as distrust towards you, Lord Caim.
"Caim" (1:46:21 AM): ,,,She is more concerned over Alexandra acting upon me. She is well aware that for her safety I would do anything -- even if it meant submitting to the Grecian Beauty.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:47:12 AM): If I may be so frank...
"Caim" (1:47:20 AM): Which you may be, of course.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:47:37 AM): She bears no Beauty from the way she acts.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:48:16 AM): While she bears physical attributes of a beautiful maiden, her mannerisms a beauty has not.
"Caim" (1:48:43 AM): I will agree. It seems to be a term that was coined upon a night of the full moon.
"Lord Zalbag" (1:50:49 AM): Mayhap it may do you well to not continue speaking with her.
"Caim" (1:51:28 AM): An impossibility for now. She has placed her sights upon my sister.
"Lord Zalbag" (2:01:52 AM): Has she...?
"Caim" (2:02:35 AM): Unfortunately. Alexandra seems to find a great enjoyment in much of anyone, but especially Furiae, as she knows that I will do what is necessary to prevent such a thing from happening.
