My opinion of flowers is why would I want to pay so much for something that is just going to last one day and die?
We only got real flowers for the wedding party and it cost us $300 (granted I live in bumfuck now, not a big city).
My opinion is get real where it'll be nice in the pics and save your money for the honeymoon or some other aspect of the wedding that you deem more important than the flowers.
Quit work? If I did that, that would mean I would have to clean the house without the excuse "I work all week". hahahahaha :)
Yeah...I met with another florist that I like better because a)she isn't hung up on herself and the whole Charlotte society scene (I know you know what I'm talking about) and b) when we were discussing what to do (I know NOTHING about decorating) she basically told us yeah, she could go all out, but there was really no reason to do so. Our reception will be on a rooftop in uptown Charlotte so essentially we don't need to decorate much as the decoration will be the view. I'm trying to do lots with ribbons/candles because I really do want real flowers (just not roses, please) so we'll see how much it hurts in the end.
Exactly!! I think it is weird that our society is still under the impression that the bride's parents are going to be taking care of all the costs. My parents gave us a gift but it wasn't near what Bry and I had to save for our wedding. I couldn't imagine planning it in Charlotte. We were able to do it here in Kingsport for under $9,000. We didn't do this huge to-do, it was very personal and casual, best time ever! :) I have forgotten, do you already live together?
