So I'm at my dad's house right now, and it's kind of a blast from the past because I'm sitting pacing my room, listening to people moving about downstairs. I'm really hungry, but also so sick of seeing my dad and stepmom (already! all it took was one vacation to New York) that I'd rather pace and be angry in my room than eat. Woke up at like 1:30 ( Read more... )

north brookline, eh? where are you living, now? I'll give you my number on your livejournal, but my phone is out of charge, and I left the charger at my mom's house, so I won't be able to use it during the vacation.

But yeah! It'd be great to see you sometime.

Battle Angel Alita is my second-favorite manga, after Nausica of the valley of the wind. i think you'll like it, maybe.

you sound like such an awesome brother. my sister and i never tried to either restrain or talk to each other like that. we did drugs together instead.
with crap like the 40-year-old virgin, kids have high tolerance levels. they're used to it. which is pretty sad and indicative of the horrible state of this country, etc.

oh, and happy new year.

yeah, it was really cool (Alita was), I liked it a lot. Really cool warrior spirit manga.

Happy new year to you too, Nicole!

Marlon, you're not prudish. I of all people should know. XP (teehee) I totally would've been doing the same thing as you in that situation, except I probably would have left the room or immediately been like "Um, I'm not watching this, bye." But that's me and my "prudishness," or rather, "humanity." Just because you have more refined sensibilities than the rest of crass America, doesn't make you prudish per se, you probably just have a way healthier outlook on sexuality than promiscuous people and/or those who buy into the media's interpretation of sex. I wouldn't worry too much about your sister making alcohol jokes. I mean, it's probably more innocent on her part than you'd think. You should probably talk to here about "stuff" at some point, just let her know exactly where you stand and what you think, without forcing her into your opinion...you probably already have done this. And what Nicole said: you ARE such a good brother! And I love you. <3 You'll be here in a couple of hours and I'm sooo excited!!!

Oh, and drinking isn't *always* bad for you health wise. Drinking too much definitely is. And depending on a person's make-up and temperament, it can be good or bad for you. What I really hate is now doctors say alcohol is good for you, and many recommend people drink more of it. But they don't seem to take into account what imbalances it can cause. Personally I still plan on staying far away from alcohol because I know for certain it will give me awful headaches and NOT help any of my current health complaints. It's VERY HEATING, and what do I need to balance most? Rampant, internal yang/hot energy! >.> My poor Yin... *sniff* But I think they're a lot more balanced than they used to be. I feel it.
