Parties are SO fucking boring. I swear. Especially when there isn't even any free food. There was a SWP party after the last reading today at the Hotel Boulderado bar, but it was just people standing around, drinking, and talking! Or sitting at tables, drinking, and talking! People can be weird. I'm sure it wasn't you and she had something else on her mind. Some people are just frustrated with life, and if you're in a deep thinking kind of mode it's quite possible she just wasn't up for chitchat and small talk. You said it yourself, people in the bar were talking about nothing. Is there anything more wasteful? But yeah, poor mazzy with good intentions! -patpat- She coulda been nicer. People forget that others can't read your minds at times. ...I'm babbling aren't I.

Well totally, I mean. The juxtaposition of me being irritated and bored at the party where people were just making small talk and me trying to make small talk to connect with this person I didn't know how to connect with any other way is sorta how it is I think. We do all the things that piss us off, or at least I do, lol. And then be cold when people are trying to be friendly if I'm in a bad mood about something they're doing or did, even if the something they did (being cold to my friendliness) is the same thing that I'm doing now. That seems to be one of those stupid human things.

I could've been nicer too. Or more real.

You have NO idea how much I envy you right now. I really wish I could have met Amiri Baraka - his work really moves me.

He's an incredible performer. I don't know if you've just read his stuff or if you've seen him live, but if you haven't seen him, you should try to, because he gets so into his work up on stage.
