And now, the last installment of artists! Also, if people want to rec other artists, I always love looking at art.
Stan Fellows is a painter, mostly watercolors (shock and surprise, I know). He mostly paints birds, with some landscapes. They’re quite nice, bold colors, beautiful birds, and just pretty in general.
And we also have a woman who I discovered through S.P.A.C.E.,
Kassandra Heller. Her stuff is soooo cute! She’s also married to one half of the duo who do
Reed Gunther, the comic about the bear-riding cowboy. She does both digital and traditional, and I got to look through her sketchbooks while at S.P.A.C.E., which is always a big bonus for me. But, here’re a few samples:
(Okay, so maybe more than a few, but I couldn't choose, and I HAD to put the whale in!)
And here is a lady several of you will recognize:
Faith Erin Hicks (or,
her deviantart). She needs the pimping, there is not enough love for this lady going around. She makes great comics, when she both writes and draws (
The War at Ellsmere,
Zombies Calling), and well-drawn comics in general (
Brain Camp). Her art is unique, solid, expressive, and fun; I very highly recommend checking out
The War at Ellsmere and
Zombies Calling. ((
Brain Camp has good art, but...the story’s all over the board, so while it’s still a pretty good read, it gets a lower rec).

deviantART Second to last comes
Lydia Sánchez, an illustrator from...well, I don’t know if she’s Spanish, Mexican, or something else, but her whole page is in Spanish. Her stuff is a lot of fun to me-very clean, very bright and colorful, and very cute. She’s done books before, although my feeble Spanish makes it hard to tell exactly what type and how many; but either way, her artwork is awesome.
And the last offering I have is
Alina Chau. I just found her, everyone else I knew about before. But she makes adorable and colorfully quirky illustrations, mostly watercolor. Look:
And that’s all! As a note, Alina Chou, Kassandra Heller, and Lydia Sánchez are all part of a collective called
Girls Drawing Girls, a group of female artists who draw the ladies in their spare time. It’s got some good stuff (obviously, since they’re in it), so feel free to check it out. Hope you’ve enjoyed this epic series!
