Taemin closed his eyes and rotated his aching neck, feeling the cool night breeze on his skin and listening to the cars zooming past ten storeys below. Today had been, once again, a gruelling 18 hour practice session - as it had been for the past month. There were rumours that the best trainee would be put into a new group debuting next May, and everyone had definitely stepped up their game. He was exhausted and desperately in need of 10 more hours in the day, to rest and catch up on his schoolwork. He sighed deeply before opening his mouth.
Onew quietly stepped onto the rooftop, making sure to fully close the door this time, wincing slightly at the memory of the last time he left it ajar only to have it slam shut on his fingers. As he turned around, ready to take in the night scenery, a smooth melody reached his ears. Instantly it filled his mind and soul, intoxicating him and compelling him forward. He knew where it was coming from, and he softly started humming along as he took confident strides towards the edge of the rooftop. He came up behind the boy with jet black hair, singing out to the city night, and he listened.
Finally, Taemin paused for a breath, slowly opening his eyes again. Then he crashed to the floor, feeling the warm weight of a body on top of him. Groaning at his already sore body, he rolled over slightly so he could face the person who tackled him out of nowhere. Onew grinned sheepishly down at him, his apology written all across his face. Taemin couldn’t help but to smile back.
Since this OnTae "one-shot" is WAYYYY overdue, I'm extending it into a short-chaptered story instead. (; Enjoy~!
