ICE CREAM

For the month of June, I'm doing absolutely nothing.

Which actually means:

• Attempting to learn French
• Working on mandolin
• Catching up on reading
• Riding my bike
• Playing stupid computer games

Argh! Now I want ice cream! And to make ice cream, which sounds like fun.

I've looked at the gel-insert ice cream makers and consistently come to the conclusion that they're just not big enough for us.

The one I have now (the kind that needs salt and ice) makes a gallon at a time, and I find that that is often too little. Ernie has a major ice cream fetish.

Bujold's Miles books are a guilty pleasure of mine: when I tried Paladin of Souls, it just didn't measure up.

If I had one of those suckers, the first flavor I'd go for would be green tea ice cream.

It might not have been very clear - I haven't actually started in on Paladin of Souls yet; I was reading Curse of Chalion yesterday. But Paladin of Souls did win the Hugo and the Nebula, so it's probably at least worth reading..

I had some green tea ice cream a while ago and I wasn't that impressed with it. I think I'd like it better with less sugar, more tea flavour..

Whee! I should give her a call. But my cell phone has been getting really poor service in my apartment recently which makes it even more annoying to talk on the phone. Blarg.
