Searching For A Book

Mar 11, 2010 01:28

For my Age of Justinian course, I need Justinian and Theodora by Robert Browning, 1971, Weidenfeld and Nicholson edition. It is proving almost impossible to get hold of this edition, as opposed to the Thames and Hudson version, printed the same year (WTF? says my mother, former employee of W&N). Any ideas?

Go to abe books and serach for that title, author browning and select UK location. The third hit is Weidenfeld and Nicholson at Arcade Books for £12-50. There'll be shipping, too, but that might still put it within your price range. Hope it helps.

I thought I had a copy but can't find it.

Do you know what the differences between the editions are? The wonderful Gorgias Press have brought out a new edition but it's quite expensive: http://www.gorgiaspress.com/bookshop/p-76-browning-robert-justinian-and-theodora.aspx
Poss worth emailing them asking on which of the older editions it's based.

It has, to my joy, turned up on abebooks.co.uk, so I'm snagging it before it can escape. I believe the difference was in the colour plates, and illustrations.
