I've got a friend who's just passed the GAMSAT and will start next year (provided he's not rurally bonded). It sounds like a bloody great lot of work to do to become a doctor and so you've got my admiration for going through with it.

It's terrible that your friend(s) seem unwilling to deal with problems, especially if they're not willing to listen to the explanation you offer and decide that their preconceptions are right. It's easier for them (read: intellectually and emotionally lazy) to behave like that and you deserve better from your friends.

While I don't know the exact details of your medical history (spinal tumour I gleaned from this post) I know that things haven't ever really been great. I can't really comfort you in the role of a close friend but I will say that I understand that it's traumatic being in and out of hospital and I wish you all the best with any testing, surgery and treatment that may occur. You'll be in my thoughts, Shannon.
