Thanks! The "Spike" part was the kernel of idea that I started with and it all sort of snowballed from there. A very dark, twisty snowball.

Thanks. :) It really came out much, much darker than I had intended. Normally when I try to do subtle and psychological, it's just boring.

You weren't kidding about dark, were you? This was an excellent story - I never saw the staked Spike twist coming, although I was surprised at Buffy's lack of anger towards him during their conversations. It makes sense, though.

I'm terribly sad for all the deaths, though. They were needed for the story (which is brilliantly named, by the way), but it's horrific reading people you love die.

I just finished rereading All Who Wander and then went wandering myself to see what other goodies you had to offer and came across this. Wow, talk about dark and angsty, but also really beautifully done. I really loved the twists on canon, and the final twist with Spike was brilliant.

Super, chilling story.
