Home from Hospital
wayfinder38 was allowed to return home today. I have talked to the Doctor, Home Health, and Hospice and thought everything was in place. wayfinder38did not seem quite as with it today as yesterday and now i know why ( Read more... ) -
Improvement
I got my flu shot this morning and just got home when the phone rang. wayfinder38 phoned to let me know he was feeling much better. He was not wheezing and generally felt pretty good. He had seen the Dr. and now they are talking discharge tomorrow. I dropped off prescriptions at the pharmacy for when he gets home and went over to the hospital ( Read more... ) -

wayfinder38 didn't do so well yesterday. He was running a fever when I got there and wheezing up a storm. It took some time to get that under control. More tests will be done, a new Dr. coming on, x-rays etc. So I don't know when he will be released ( Read more... ) -

wayfinder38 slept most of the day away. The nurses think it is because his blood sugar level is so high because of the prednisone. This amount of sleep is unusual. We spoke with the Social Worker this morning and she contacted the hospice agency I interviewed Monday. She let us know late in the day that the agency will work with us and Home Health will be ( Read more... ) -
today's note
My cell phone was down to two bars so I waited to go into the hospital until it was charged. I phoned the patient when I was on my way and the Dr. was in the room so she talked to me on the phone. She wants to keep wayfinder38 in the hospital until he finishes the full course of IV antibiotics as she wants to make sure the pneumonia is dealt with unlike the ( Read more... ) -
Update
wayfinder38 had to ask to be moved as his roommate in the hospital was disturbed and disturbing. They moved him next door this morning and he spent most of the day dozing with constant interruptions. They took blood several times and he doesn't have a lot to spare. I interviewed another Hospice agency. I am trying to find a fit with what they can do and ( Read more... )
