Mo'o on Christmas Papaya Tree

Aha! I finally caught the mo'o (green anole) with camera. She loves to lick the papaya. I let the fruit ripen on the tree so I can watch out my window to see her and the singing birds nibble.

The green ones have been mostly scared away by the more aggressive brown anole - who are a bit of a pest, actually. They look like little dinoasaurs when they run on their back legs.

I love papaya. I went a bit crazy and planted five papaya trees in my tiny back yard. They are from the seeds i brought back from Honduras. But these papayas are different - extra large, but not as sweet as local ones. My sister cooks them (green ones).

I've seen the papayas from Mexico. They are huge. Some are the size of a small watermelon.
