I find that nothing is ever as much as is promised to us, whether in writing class or home investment (bad example, but it's true -_-). I'm wondering about these mishaps myself: I'm going to be taking my first creative writing course next semester. I think proffesors (although, at the college level they should really work on this, bleh! lol) get into instructional ruts. They get a technique, they get a theory, they set up a curiculum and it keeps their students quiet for a few periods of the day. It's dissapointing, but it's true. The thing is, this idea works great in a math class, but in a class where the harnessing of your creativity is supposed to be the entire point, it seems rather contradictory. Sorry for the rambling, but this has been something I've been thinking about for a while.
