Alright, I am pretty disappointed in this anime season, and I am not to sure why either. I was looking to New Prince of Tennis, but it seems lame?
Or I duno they pretty much dragged out the part with mountain really long. Not that I mind but uhh I really want to see people play tennis. I am sure they are gonna breeze right over the matches with 3rd and 5th court really fast (I fell a premonition of one episode, which probably focuses on tezuka only). I am really disappointed, I do not mind the emphasis on Echizen after all he is the main character whether people like him or not (but the focus should no longer Seigaku, I have no idea why the animators are only focusing on their matches). Btw I cried a little inside when they skipped over Yukimura and Sanada match. Although I really enjoyed the pacing at first, when they got to the mountain it went to slow (why must we emphasize training....)
Err other ones I am watching Natsume Yuujinchou (of course!), this anime is always so awesome.
Hmm....I am watching Bakuman 2, I am not sure how many times they fail during their serializations but, it's still an ongoing manga right? So do they fail and than go on to publish in jump or something? I duno but it's still interesting in a non-awesome way but I guess it started out that way as well.
Uhhh...so Area no Kishi...I don't have anything to really say, I read the manga so the anime might be ruined forever for me. I am constantly comparing and stuff. I don't know I wish they hadn't spent a ton of time on Seven's match with the Nadeshiko's or whatever.
So I wanted to watch Brave 10, I can not seem to get interested (I'll wait until it's finished airing or something).
The last two episodes of Chihayafuru have been uhh boring or something. I duno why. I hope Taichi gets out of his funk though.
HunterxHunter...wow I am waiting I can't wait till they get to Killua's house! Illumi's voice is better in this one though.
One piece...I hope Jimbe is in the next episode. I hate shirahoshi. Please stop crying.
InuxBoku- it's ok, I was interested at first. But, I read the manga, after they get together it is pretty lame. I hope they spend more time on mitskemui (wow i spelled it wrong) past and hers as well.
Another is kinda creepy. Okay I will just take a shot in the dark and say the scared kid is the kid that is not really alive. Although it might be the main character but isn't that to obivous or something haha.
Bleach- So I was not to so crazy about this arc in it's animated form or it's manga form. But, I have gruginly kept up with it, anyways I wanna see Bakuya fight roar (oh and Ichigo lol). Err, no real predictions on the newest arc in the manga, people say it's like ishida's people (the name is escaping me right now), but why do they have masks, why are they able to get into the commanders rooms so easily. I;m not saying ishida's weak or anything...
Alright so I started reading Baby Steps (and caught up to the scanlation), it went by pretty fast. I really liked it. It's about this OCD guy who studies hard, works hard, is good natured, and really a likeable guy. He starts out playing tennis because he decided that he should get his body in shape (which is commented on by his friends, that he thinks like a old man). Anyways, he end up really liking tennis, and finds it fun, he takes notes during tennis and analyzes his opponents weaknesses based on the data that he has collected (it seems whenever people play against him they end up liking him, this is a trope right? like enemies becoming friends lol). He decides to become a pro, and that's about it.
1 good characters
2 good plot
3 good premesis
4 good conversation between characters
5 good progression.
I am not sure what this manga is missing that other sports mangas have, but it feels extremely normal. I posted this on a message board and some defender of the manga said it was "ridiclousness". I do not think that it is, after all a person that after a year is able to play against pros is nothing more that ridiculous (although there are geniuses, we are talking about someone who has never been in sports, or anything else to suddenly have a body that is able to withstand hours of running around on tennis court for 3 sets is nothing more than absloutley ridiculous). I think it is more along the lines of there being no defining moments in this manga, meaning the character does not have a epic moment or a moment in which the reader was not expecting something. The reader expects the failure/loss but we also are expecting him to overcome it every time (and grow because of it). While you can probably say this about other mangas (it is more of a gray area, we don't know how quickly they might bounce back, or if they will bounce back, but for this character it is a given he will, he has already been given this type of personality). I do not know anything about tennis but this is the second tennis manga I have read, meh it sounds obivously more realistic (as in no magic moves or gravity defying stunts) but I dunno why I feel like I can't say I LOVE this manga.
