When I was in Japan, I noticed that a lot of girls seem very concerned with their appearance as well. I can understand how you would feel a little out of sorts. I think it's ridiculous to be honest. They're all like perfect, little dolls waiting to be plucked off the shelf by some guy. I think the more time you spend on your outward appearance (especially to the degree that they do), the more you start losing some part of who you are on the inside

I'm okay with people who take care of themselves--God knows, one of the problems I have finding a guy is I want one who isn't afraid of a little extra effort in that department--but only if they're doing it for themselves. And also, no matter who you're doing it for, it shouldn't take more than, say, an hour when you're putting yourself together in the morning, and then touch-ups shouldn't take more than a minute or two on a normal day.
I don't worry too much about the visibility of porn. People who want it will go looking for it, and people who don't care pass it by. I dislike how in America, as long as the nipples aren't showing it's okay. It doesn't really make sense when you can see everything else anyway, so why not just go for the whole thing and be done with it? Women are objectified almost everywhere in some way or another, just the angle is different. The only thing I don't like is the attitude Japanese porn takes, where women can't enjoy or pursue sex of her own will; the only way to make a woman enjoy it is by more

Well the important thing to keep in mind about point and shoots is that megapixels matter (this isn't the case with SLR cameras). I'm not sure how Japan is, but I know that nowadays you'd probably be hard pressed to find anything lower than 8 or 10 megapixels. You'll want a camera with an image stabilizer (usually the model number will be followed by IS, or at least that's how it is with canon cameras). A nice range of ISO is always a plus. ISO has to do with lighting and image quality sort of. Face detection self timer is really great to have as well
