It's a shame when fandoms fade. I'm holding out hope that the 20th anniversary of FF7(I can't believe I'm typing those words) will lead to some renewed interest. But this place just seems so dead...what will it take to bring it all back?

I've been hanging on to the same hope too. The FFVII section of ff.net doesn't get the kind of traffic it used to, the comms have shrunk or flat out died, fandoms in general have become more Tumblr-oriented, which isn't the kind of fandom experience I want so I haven't bothered with it. People will move to other fandoms too. I did tell myself S-E was pushing the FFVII sequels out too fast. They should have paced them better, staggered it out over the years, so we'd get a steady influx of new fans as time went by. But spilt milk and all that. We'll still got a sizeable, active fandom, I'm going to enjoy what I can in it.

Right on. It's not like people are just going to forget FF7. Mystwalker's "What if Genesis was the villain?" fic has a shitload of followers. As long as we write, and write well, we'll still get our fandom fix.
