Sounds like this individual is conveniently unaware of the thousands of Christian gay people who did ask God to "take it away" -- even went to Christian therapists, got shock treatments, blah blah blah -- and nasty ol' God didn't bother. And they finally realized that this was their true, valid self.

Interesting, isn't it, how so many people's gods just coincidentally happen to have exactly the same prejudices they do!

It seems sometimes people use religion as an excuse for ignorance. I find that horrible but hardly surprising. Why can't everyone be accepted?! Jesus loved everyone. Prostitutes, tax payers, everyone. And he didn't ask for anything in return except love. Or something. My knowledge is rusty
