Repo Man. Jesus that was a telling title, not just because of the demon/postal worker story but more importantly to the overall story arc, it was Lucifer worming his way back into Sam’s skull. I cannot say just how much I adore this episode and it’s on record the amount of times I’ve praised Mark Pellegrino’s portrayal of Lucifer but this episode really takes the cake on how fantastically creepy and yet funny he can be!
Repo Man was everything I could’ve asked for minus a couple of vital brotherly moments which wouldn’t have gone amiss but considering everything, I’ll let it slip because the next few episodes look to be rather setting up for brotherliness coming out the wazoo!
Here’s my thoughts on this episode:
+ The interrogation four years earlier. I was extremely disconcerted at this point because the guys thought it was okay to torture an 'innocent' person in order to get information on Lilith but then I remembered, yes we are on season 7 and this part of the ep was set four years earlier but there was a year long timeskip between seasons 5 and 6 so this scene is set Season 4 - made more sense to me then with Dean’s just escaping from Hell and Sam being on the bad track with Ruby at this point.
+ Impala! I know it was only a glimpse in a flashback but FUCK do I miss that car! Baby, please PLEASE come back! <3
+ The Amulet. It was the first thing I noticed when I saw flashback Dean and it made my heart LEAAAAP for joy at seeing it, I also need this back in my life too. I hope it’s a prelude to a proper return of the amulet because I'll never let this thing go.
+ Lucifer. Okay, I have to mention it again - how creepy funny is Mark Pellegrino guys? I love how he was just standing in the background or sitting around most times. It made it a lot more menacing. Also... “he said shut up to me! <3 ” Oh! My Lucifer/Sam shipper is acting up again... Also FORKED TONGUE?!? Ewww....
+ Jeffrey. "Monsters I get, but people?" - Damn right Dean, damn right. He was a crazy dick but there was something strangely likeable about him... until he killed the poor dog. Then I hated him.
+ Sam being a creeper in the library. Why did I find it so funny that nobody gets freaked out by the giant, twitchy guy stalking the librarian???
+ Bored Lucifer. The hallucination in the library was extremely disturbing but then when Lucifer stopped and started wailing that he was bored like a petulant child, I did laugh.
+ Lucifer and Sherlock resemblances. This is probably just me cos my Sherlock kick hasn’t let up AT ALL. But when Lucifer said he was bored, it reminded me of Sherlock. Like the way Sherlock shoots the wall when he’s bored... and Lucifer makes people bash their heads in. And then him disappointedly berating Sam in the library and in Jeffrey’s room for not getting the obvious clues made me think of Sherlock talking to Watson, even the music during the scene when Sam was searching the room seemed vaguely BBC Sherlock....
+ Dean getting tackled by Jeffrey. Was it just me or did it seem like the injection was red? My first thought was that it was demon blood and my mind got carried away but two seconds later I thought “oh yeah, that’s stupid.”
+ Lucifer putting bad ideas in Sam’s head - I didn’t like Nora that much at all, not sure why.... but then we get from Lucifer - “Hit her. Shake her up, she knows what happened to Dean so get this stupid cow to focus!” This is incredibly telling to me.
+ Lucifer also speaking Spanish - I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS!! IT JUST GIVES ME SO MANY FEELS!!
+ The Spanish Inquisition line - "NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!" Hey Dean?! Why didn't you say that in response?! Seemed like a wasted moment.
+ Jeffrey comparing S4!Dean and S7!Dean. It's such a sad comparison to see how even this random guy can tell how tired Dean is of the way the world around him is at the moment. And when Dean finds out about Sam? Oh dear.... :(
+ Dean being pissed at him killing the dog. I was also pissed at him killing the dog. It was not cool Jeffrey, NOT COOL!
+ Dean’s WTF face when Jeffrey and the demon were um... dancing - it was priceless. It was the exact expression on my face.
+ The demon treating Jeffrey like a pupil. I don’t know, the demon was there to teach him and it was like a very twisted teacher-student moment but I strangely liked it.
+ The exorcisms in this episode. I really, REALLY missed the old school exorcisms <3
+ Dean going to sleep on the bed. He looked adorable in that position, without... sounding too creepy... but didn’t he get his arm sliced earlier? Shouldn’t he go take care of that haha
+ Dean talking about how psychopaths act normal. That was so foreboding a shout out to Sam trying to act normal and suddenly finding his old methods of keeping it together are not working.
+ The ending scene between Sam and Lucifer. I got chills all the way through it but literally when Lucifer shouted “Good Morning Vietnam!” and the close up of Sam’s eyes with that music and the laughter - I think my heart just about stopped.
I know this was filled with a lot of Lucifer worship but I LOVE Luci so I don’t care, his and Sam’s scenes in this episode were certainly the most compelling of the ep. Kinda sad there wasn’t more Dean and Sam interaction but I got my Sam and Lucifer scenes FINALLY here so I can’t be too sad about it - also I choose to believe in the fact that Sam let Lucifer back in to help Dean so... yeah... :)
And the promo for next week? AHHHH GOD!!! And I have to wait til March 9th for the next one?!?! FFS!!! *rages*
