This was such a satisfying read, with action and adventure and Jim being Jim and Spock being Spock and I loved it so! I'm almost sorry it's over, though now I'm wondering what you will write next, LOL.
I think my favorite section was Spock being tortured and subsequently rescued, but the best plot point was the Orion conspiracy - didn't see that coming, and it was such a clever way to develop the reasons that Earth's technology hadn't progressed as it ought to have. And thought the story was a big ol' space adventure kind of thing, I really appreciated the glimpses of darkness you folded throughout the tale, like Tarsus, and poor Bones' family being enslaved, and the political stalemate on Vulcan. They all contributed to making this so much richer a story, so well done!
