Just a comment on [10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
Yes I do. My ancestors came here through Ellis Island and risked being rejected. They also had to learn the language and adapt as well. These new immigrants can do the same and come here legally. I don't mind them coming here legally, or coming here on student visas and learning something they can take back to make their own country better. Just don't sneak in illegally, break the laws, screw over those who live here, demand rights and that we speak their language.
If they still had Ellis Island style immigration, most those illegal immigrants would be legal immigrants. If there were no more complicated hurdles than showing up and standing in line until your paperwork could be processed, they'd all be legal.
Then we could tell which ones are actually up to no good, and maybe assimilate them so they'd learn some English. It's hard to learn when you hide from everyone who knows it.
