Crazy Dreams...
This post is kind of random, but seriously, I've had a couple dreams lately that are are just too amazing not to tell people about.
The first dream I had a couple weeks ago now, but it was one of the most vivid I think I've ever had in my life. I actually finished the dream, woke up naturally, and then rolled over for about twenty minutes before my alarm went off, which I think contributed to me remembering so much.
Anyway, the dream itself: It started out from Zuko's POV (both these dreams were full of Avatar characters, BTW), standing in the middle of this huge arena. I'm talking enormous, Hunger-Games-style biome thing. He's in full Fire Lord regalia, and Mai is lecturing him about something, but Zuko's only half paying attention. Finally, he cuts her off and asks, "But what's the point of this training?" And Mai answers, "To survive."
Immediately, this lava moat fills in around the edges of the arena, and hordes of wild beasts come stampeding in. There were saber-toothed moose-lions, tigerdillos, these nasty, huge wild versions of mongoose dragons and komodo rhinos, and this bizarre bat-gorilla-rhinoceros hybrid.
The POV switched to me (Aerodactylus) at this point, and I capture a mongoose dragon. Just as I'm getting it up to a gallop, thinking, "Hey, this'll be pretty useful," Mai and Sokka come flying by on one of the bat-gorilla-rhinos, and Mai sinks a knife into my dragon's head, killing it (the point of the game, I gathered, was to kill as many beasts as you could in the time limit). I started whining and yelling about how it was a cheap shot, and Mai just gave me a look like, "Really? You gonna cry about it?" as they flew off. She also accidently dropped a bag of throwing knives, which I grabbed.
So I found another dragon and captured it, and I discovered that I could throw a knife into the ground ahead of me, and the dragon would run to it, since it was attracted to shiny things. So I made it climb this big rocky outcropping that way, and then I stabbed it and shoved it off so I could get the kill point. At the top, Sokka and Ty Lee were fighting another bat-gorilla-rhino, while a third was hanging out nearby. I figured if I slashed its wings it wouldn't be able to fly, so I tried throwing a bunch of knives at it, but it just got mad and charged me. Fortunately, time ran out and the game ended before it could get to me, coinciding with the end of the dream.
The second dream I just had last night, and was sort of an inverted Boiling Rock plot, that took place in a Blade Runner kind of future city.
In this one, Zuko and Mai are on a monorail, going somewhere, when the train crashes. The police arrive and blame Mai, and arrest her and haul her off to prison. Zuko gets really distraught, and runs home and starts spilling his story to Azula, who somehow calls the police and gets him arrested too, for something.
Sokka hears about all this and decides he needs to save his BFF, and contrives a plan to get himself arrested that involves dressing up as Spider-man (because that is apparently illegal in Avatar/Blade Runner world). So he goes running around town wearing a Spider-man costume, and the police catch up with him and throw him in the back of this van filled with other Spider-man cosplayers. Sokka tries to tell him that he's the real Spider-man, though, and to prove it, he tries to shoot web at the guards, but it doesn't work. So he ends up in prison too.
Cut to later, after Sokka and Zuko have hooked up, and they're talking with this guard that may or may not have been Mai's uncle (the dream wasn't very specific). He tells them it's going to be really tough to bust Mai out, since she's already got a plan of her own to escape.
Zuko finds Mai's cell and gets it open, and she almost stabs him with this wicked shiv she'd made out a piece of metal. When she realizes who it is though, they make out for a while. She tells him that she'd been working out really hard, doing push ups and sit ups and stuff, and was going to use the shiv to kill whoever came into her cell next, and then make a break for it.
Unfortunately, that was where that dream ended, so I didn't get to find out if they escaped from prison or not.
