Music shifts

I'm finding myself listening to more of the current music. I never thought much of rap, but I'm finding myself enjoying music such as Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" and "Wild Ones" as well as Outasight's "Tonight is the Night".

I'm trying not to be like my grandfather or my mother in hating current music ;-)

I don't listen to anything recorded after 1986!

I'll listen to some of it- at least the music which requires a level of skill to produce. Autotuned vox and drum-machine noise I have yet managed to learn to enjoy.

I have a big box of vinyl donated to me by a friend- I just need to get me something to play it on. the Telefunken is still on-hold-until-further-notice.

I have noticed more that my taste in music appears to be that of my father's, just 20 years advanced.

Maybe this is a recursive thing?

I generally don't care for rap and hiphop either.

I do like Kanye West's "Power".

My mother was not into any new music until Lady Gaga changed that cause it is the perfect workout music i guess. me personally i know that is not going to happen to me. I love Music period. and i have always loved new or odd music. and have had the same taste in music most of my life. everything but Specifically Gangsta rap. as in the violent nasty more fucking swearwords than even i can say in a sentence type with booty booty rape kill going on, and then Country. nearly every single country song i have been subjected too has made me ill. I am sure it is the steel guitar. Also i hate bagpipes. with a burning loathing matched only by the violence of the primal universe. but everything else is great. I love so many types of ethnic music and new and oldies and classical and primitive and dubstep to pop to heavy metal to polka to experimental and prog rock to old ballads and all sorts of things.
