Apparently I'm becoming senile. At least at work. I attribute it to the fact that out of the students, I have been here the longest. I'm a Media Services senior citizen. As a result, I do not like the way other people enter orders. I do not like when the desk gets unorganized or messy. I do not like the way others use the computer. Today I discovered that what I dislike the MOST is when someone changes MY desktop background. Apparently bear grass isn't as good as the stupid, boring Windows' boat-on-ocean background. Roxana and I liked the beargrass, but whatever. So instead of not getting annoyed with the trivial things in life, what did this senior citizen do? Well, I changed it back, of course. This time to a volcano in Nicaragua. Hopefully that will fly. If not, I'm throwing down.
You know who else I'm throwing down with? The denist's office. Apparently we got a new denist, and my first appointment with them is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:20. Too bad I have to work ALL day tomorrow and 11:20 happens to be the MOST inconvenient time EVER. So I called them, hoping to get it moved to either earlier in the morning, later in the day, or a different day entirely. What did they tell me? "I'm sorry, we're booked solid until April. We can move it back to 12 o'clock if you'd like." Hello. I'm Earth. Have we met?? NO that doesn't help. That's even worse. How can they not have ONE opening until April?? They are lying. Now I have to figure out if I should even bother coming into work in the morning or not. I think I have to because I'm the only one scheduled. Oh yeah, what else? My new dentist is in WALLED LAKE. Great. Love it. I get to drive from Livonia to Detroit to Walled Lake to Detroit to Livonia. DUMB. They better do an AWESOME job on my teeth and they better be REALLY nice to me or else I'm going to blow up their office.
I hate Scheduler Plus.
I hate our fax machine.
I hate stupid questions (and, yes, there IS such thing as a stupid question).
WHEW. Done with the complaints. On to my normal entry...
Many people have been asking me what I'm going to do with "all my free time." "Aren't you going to get bored?" They all wonder. Well, the answer is NO. While I do have free time, it's not like I have so much that I'm just sitting around twidling my thumbs. Between work, helping out with track and volleyball, and getting everything accomplished for Chile, I'm relatively busy. Not to mention that I have recently picked up the habit of reading books. I just finished the Davinci Code which, like everyone else in the world, I liked alot. I think it's just that some people freak out when they don't have a million things to do. I am not one of those people, so I'm okay with just chillin and doing some things for fun.
I got my blood drawn twice this week, both times without any problem. The second time I even sat up the whole time and didn't feel dizzy at all. Just like a normal person. Yea! I'm beginning to suspect that there really is something in the Hepititis A vaccine that my body does NOT like. Why else would my body respond so strangely those two specific times? Apparently I'm immune for life so I suppose it no longer matters.
This weekend Rachel and I (and maybe a couple others) are going to go skiing/snowboarding. I'm excited. I have always wanted to learn how to ski. My parents used to be good at it because they went all the time when they were in Montana. One day I'm going to go skiing in Montana. I figure, though, that it won't hurt to start off learning here on our hills in Michigan. Then I can be awesome for when I go to Montana. Or Chile.
High five for us finally getting fans in our office. It has been super hot in here since the fall and apparently there is nothing the building coordinators can do about it. I don't know what that's about, but I do know that it is much better with the fans.
I have been running all this week since Sunday (it is truly an amazing feat). It's been a bit rough, but I'm already getting better. I'm running super slow still, but I can last longer without having to stop. Sunday and Monday were pretty pathetic. I'm planning on getting in shape for real before I go to Chile. That's part of the reason I'm so set on helping out with conditioning four days a week. I'm hoping that the university I'm going to will have some kind of running team that I can join. That would be really fun and a good way to meet people. Cross you dedos for me.
Well I guess that's it. A general warning if you plan on speaking with me before Chile: Not having classes makes me really dumb. I mean it. Nowadays I am super slow. So yeah, don't expect much from me. Peace out.
