Alanis Morrisette, originally from Canada, becomes a US citizen.

Debate: what potential benefits can US derive from this defection in the ongoing US-Canadian rivalry vis-a-vis poaching each other's citizens?

Having never (willingly) listened to a Morrisette song, that reference flew right past me...well, almost.

It would be awesome if we nabbed Bill Clinton.

I agree! I'm a huge Bill Clinton fan, and if he became a Canadian, we could make him our slave! *Cackles evilly*

I know that's what you've wanted ever since you saw him. You want to steal him away from us and drive him like a slave in your massive underground sugar caves.

Haha, I don't really see what the States is getting out of this, but as long as Morrisette remains a dual citizen, and doesn't dump Canada, I won't have her burnt at the stake for being a sneaky deserter. :P

I always suspected you of having sinister powers like having total strangers burnt at the stake for trivial reasons. For someone who once hugged a tree, you have quite a fearsome imagination. I like it! ;)

Well, a little known fact is that the woman the public believes to be Celine Dion isn't really Celine Dion at all -- I had the real one assassinated when she abadoned us and became an American. Now her performances are done by a robot with a wacky accent that likes to tell amusing anecdotes. :P
