Here's a picture from the walkway area outside my family's apartment (technically it's not an apartment because they own it, like I've said; they call it a "mansion," but I can't really call it that in English, and it's not a house, so I'm going to keep using "apartment" for now). You can see several crop fields off to the left, and the mountains hazily loom in the far distance.
Here you can see the next apartment building over. This address is divided into building #1 and building #2: I'm in #2, and this picture shows #1. Since they're basically mirror images, you can pretty much tell what my building looks like from this picture too.
Here are some other apartment buildings nearby. I just took a picture because the closest ones are kinda colorful and I thought that was interesting. This picture was actually taken from on top of an observation walkway above the circular play area near my buildings.
I see these buses pretty much every day, and some of them look so weird that I had to take a picture one day. I have no idea what a bus labeled "Bai Sha-qu" is doing in Kobe, because that sounds like Chinese to me. Oh well. So anyway, that area is right next to the train station. My building is off to the right hand side and out of the picture across a street, and the station is to the left, out of the picture.
Here's what a Japanese crosswalk sign and button looks like. I'd just pressed the button before I took the picture, so the text above the button is lit up and says, "o-machi kudasai" or "Please wait." The sign says (more or less):
"Button for Pedestrian Use
Cross after the traffic light turns green."
If you cross the street to the right, you end up heading directly toward my building. The station is behind me in this picture, and the bus area is to the left.
This shows a view into my room from outside the doorway. You can see my lofted bed with shelves underneath. I store all my clothes in those shelves. My computer sits on a low table to the left of the bed (almost out of sight, but there's a sliver of red next to the door - that's the table). It's exactly the same sort of table as the purple one I used in my apartment last year. There's a window to the right, and in front of that there is a red shelf/table sort of thing that holds a TV and my manga and cds. The front door to the place is actually to my right in this shot, and the corridor leading farther in is to the left. Behind me is the music room, which has a piano and a sound system. That's where Yuka holds lessons sometimes.
Finally, here are two pictures of my cell phone, open and closed. I just set it on the carpet of my room to take the pictures. My phone's so cool, but I've already talked about its functions before, so I'll just stop now.
It's late so I'll post this and go to bed. More pictures of other places maybe tomorrow.
