I can't agree MORE! Plus, ad in the fact that foreign cars are just plainly built to last better than most similarly priced American models. There is a reason Toyotas, Mazdas and Hondas have a high re-sale value.

Every time I look at the resale value of my car, I am amazed it is about 75% of what I paid for it. Granted, my mileage is extremely low and it does have a few bells and whistles to set it apart from the standard models, but most cars depreciate that much in under a year. I've had my car almost 3 years now, and the only problems I've had with it were one issue with the clock/stereo resetting itself [replaced under warranty without any hassle, recognized as a problem with the model of stereo, not the car], and just in the past month or 2 had problems with the windshield washer sprayers on the front, and the guy said it's not unusual for a little dirt or even wax from automatic car washes to get stuck in there, and the process to clean it out was free.

I got some awesome cleaning stuff and cleaned off my wheels, plus dusted the inside and vacuumed. I swore the car looked brand new, especially with the wheels as shiny as they were. I must remember to do this again when I want to trade it in.

Yeah, no amount of attempted guilting is going to get me to buy a car... or anything for that matter.

Yeah really. Who reads that and feels tempted to buy one? I feel more like telling it to fuck off. It's pretty condescending.

Ironically commenting on this post as BOTH of our cars are showing signs of wear. Especially ironic considering mine just started to.
