...where my dog outsmarts me :P
So I've been working on desensitizing my dog to getting her nails trimmed. It's something we've struggled with ever since we got her. For the past week I've really knuckled down and been working hard on it (it's really only her dew claws that are the issue, the others are worn down on her daily run). This involves me making a big 'game' out of it, telling her it's 'Nail Trim Time!' and giving her lots of treats and praise etc Well, apparently she's worked out my routine. I would lay out her towel on the table, get out the Yogies and then get out the nail trimmers *then* put her on the table. Today, I'd got out the towel + yogies and realised that the nail trimmers were down in the guinea pig room. So I put the Yogies on the kitchen UpStand and went to get them. When I came back...she wasn't on the couch, or the chair...or her crate (where'd she'd been when I left the room). I looked into the meals area. And saw this.
I was only out of the room for about 3-4 minutes (had to stop and give the piggies chin scritches, otherwise would have been shorter!) so it just shows how smart she can be when she wants to be. (ie...when there are Yogies involved!)
I was laughing too hard to really work on it today...at least she's not running away when I get the trimmers out now!
