The pictures below pretty much sum up my weekend.

Well, no, I lie-- I bought a car, if you didn't see. I was going to get a new Honda Civic, but no dealership in Austin had any, so I went back to the used Mazdas and test drove this gorgeous (albeit ridiculous) metallic royal blue V6 Mazda 6 with a chrome gas thingy and matching little blue caps on the wheels. I mean, jesus h christ, I do NOT need a car like this-- but with 25k miles on it for $15k, I took it. I mean, that was a decent deal, right? Maybe not. Who knows. I went under budget and got a fast, big, fairly fuel-efficient, ridiculous car. And a warranty. Momma didn't raise no fools, and my maker didn't make no mistakes.

Friday night was pool-playing and avoiding drinking. Saturday night was "Erin doesn't take her medicine so she can drink" day, and I did just that-- mounds of alcohol, Doug Stanhope show, carting people around in the new vehicle, raining, getting home way too late, and feeling sorry for myself. I won't give you exact details, but things were said and things were not said and two different situations led to my depression yesterday. I feel better now. Not great, but better.

Yesterday was a very good day. Crystal and I dubbed the Sundays we spend together "Roommate day" because we usually end up doing laundry together, cleaning together, and getting a meal (or two) together. Yesterday it was soy tacos for lunch with her amazing homemade guacamole, which is heavenly (jesus, it's awesome having someone who cooks live with me, living with Shanna was the same way, I probably gained 10 lbs just because of it). Dinner was Polvos, which was decent, but I think I'm going to give them another try (I probably picked a bad menu item, and I wasn't drinking). All in all, a good day. The self-loathing was just a side-dish.

I'm absolutely convinced everyone is staring at my car when I drive. Driver's vanity? Sure! Right now, anyway. It's a pretty car. Really, you should see it. I am not a ridiculous person for buying it. Okay, maybe I am...

This morning there were way too many people in the parking garage. I come to find that it's summer student orientation of some nature. As I'm walking through the Union to buy my $4 iced mocha from some no-name coffee place, I get 4 students asking me, "IS THIS THE UNION!?" to which I reply, "FUCK OFF!" which comes out, "Yes." Then some of the student helpers ask me "Are you a summer whatever student?" and I say, "DO I LOOK LIKE A TURD!?" which comes out, "No! teeheehee!" I get my overpriced iced mocha to the tune of the Sunny Day CD the barista (baristo?) dude is playing and walk past another gaggle of boys with backwards baseball caps and girls with asscheek shorts on so that I may sit in my cubicle and bitterly sip on my iced mocha.

Coffee is like Schlitz to me. I'll just let you figure that one out on your own.

This week is seeing a movie with coworker codename V at the Paramount tomorrow night (or maybe that's next week?), cleaning out my old car (ugh), Sonic Youth on friday (I forgot where I put the tickets... I'll find them), licking my new car, and trying to convince JJ to drive to Dallas with me this upcoming weekend. Busy? Yes. Oh, and taking my meds, 'cause that's important.

Makey outy is just on the list of "to-do" so I don't sound too eager to fumble someone's jumblies.

That's it. Happy monday.
