We got our first power bill here in Denver.

We used under $60 worth of energy.

The bill is $182.  That's right.  Taxes and fees are DOUBLE the energy usage.  We pay $76 to "recover the cost of supplying energy" and $22 to offset the price of them importing energy.  And that's just two of the 9 entries for taxes and fees.

Is this seriously legal

Whaaa? That's retarded! Worse than them totally raising stupid power rates over the summer when we have to use AC or die :P.

I will make it legal.

Oh ummm it depends on what the city allows them to charge. Unless they are deregulated then they can charge whatever they want.
