(And there may be fic! With pie!) There's also been a lot of picture-taking, as we've made our way from state to state. Beneath the cut are 23 of them, and ( Read more... )

I always take visitors to Maine to Portland Head Light, and it never gets old for me.

And then at Fort Williams I do the "how far can I shimmy into the creepy long crevasse?" game.

I absolutely love it! I've been three times or so before this, and it's always great. Especially clambering around on the rocks, doing questionable things :P

In Vermont you must seek out Ben and Jerry's - free ice cream!

Mmmmm, ice cream... We're back in New Hampshire now, but I'm kind of in an ice-cream mood!

According to my mom and dad, the last (and first) time I went to the Boston Aquarium was when I was two years old. Needless to say, I don't really remember that particular excursion, so it was nice to go and be fairly sure I'd remember something :D

Pretty, pretty pictures! You do have some very attractive scenery in your big ol' country.

As I understand it, Henry Sheldon, a rich dude who loved collecting things, "acquired" the mummy in the 1860s. Hurray theft of ancient cultural artifacts! The mummy wound up forgotten, until some people who were going through his things for his estate found it rotting in the attic of his house. Since I guess returning the mummy to Egypt was not going to happen, they decided to bury it on the Sheldon plot in the local cemetery.

I always have such weird encounters at the Boston Aquarium. Last time I was there some French guy asked if I was a Mormon (I was with my sisters, a female friend, and a female cousin- and my father).

These look so pretty! I miss real fall so much right now

Crazy! We had our weird encounter saved for later in the day at Boston Gardens, when a guy claiming to be a graduate student in social work from Burlington, Vermont yelled at us for being creeped out by him.
