It's that time of year again. Yes, time to send out applications for things and work on my moisturizing. Not at the same time. More happily, it's also time for knitting. And time for another SPN episode review!
But basically, I wonder if there will be some sort of reordering of all the outer spheres. I mean, no rules, right? Angels can contract souls. So... why would angels and demons fight each other? They don't have to, do they? I have no idea what such an alliance would mean or do. But it just seems like they should be able to work some common new angle.
Flying to Scotland and finding a church, if you knew where you were going, would take a few days, but not a week. Like, two days you could do it. It's a half day flight from the East Coast to the East Coast of Scotland. So assume you land in Aberdeen, you could take a train up to Caithness that wouldn't be more than three hours. Two days you could totally do it. If there was no sleeping.
To reiterate: IT'S PERFECT! WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING IT?
TWO REASONS: 1- Crowley, being Fergus Crowley, would manage to convince Cas remaining in Heaven is stupid, and that he'd be better off with, say, the King of Hell, therefore sexy-times would happen, but since the show only gives us about an episode per season of anyone NOT Sam/Dean, we would MISS OUT ON ALL THE SEXY-TIMES! 2- Cas, being Cas, and also because of the wearing of Jimmy (whom I still believe was a tax-accountant) would make Hell so freaking efficient, there either wouldn't be a need for Hunters anymore, ergo, bye show! or he'd manage to make Demons rule the world, therefore, hello apocaShow! but in any case, we would miss the always necessary 'Evil Dude Gets Really Bad At Fighting All Of A Sudden To Advance The Plot' that save Winchesters and defeat many foes.
Trin and I were musing over a future project, and decided that Bobby and Sheriff Mills (whose first name I can't remember) really needed to be together. How awesome would that be?
My mother said the EXACT same thing. They really would be perfect together.
And I think Crowley and Cas would make an interesting dynamic. One's the Sheriff of Heaven, the other's the King of Hell. Together...they fight crime ;)
I enjoyed the ep so much that I didn't give a thought to the timeline, although I was a tad surprised to see the boys overseas. I'll bet Cas gives them a ride home, though. Dean is going to owe him big time for that.
I think I've gotten used to the fact that according to the SPN writers, the US is about the size of NJ.

I did an episode recap with embedded commentary here: http://darkmagess.livejournal.com/468012.html

It's true. SD is only a few hours from Andover, right? :-P Not at all half a continent away...
