Still sucky times here. For those of you who don't know what the academic job market is, it's basically a month and a half of sending in application materials that force you to assess how very inadequate you are as a researcher and instructor, followed by another month and a half of the most dispiriting, empty silence as you wait for the bare hope ( Read more... )

Totally scrolled past the SPN stuff since I haven't been able to download the ep yet, but just saw this post and OMG IT FREAKED ME THE FUCK OUT. Finishing 1st semester of 1st year MA (w/ plans to apply to PhD progs next year) in a non-moneymaking field and am going to try to forget I ever saw this post. LALALALALA!

the porn thing was just ugh. kind of skeevy. and so were all the rape jokes. WE GET IT, shit was just overkill this episode.

you know, i loathed douchebag campbell up until he was revealed to be a demon. then he became just another annoying demon and i stopped caring. and even forgot he existed.

i should have known that crap about a demon's remains would be an easy way to get rid of crowley. :| ffffuuuuuu done in by a shoehorned, nonsensical plot twist. WHY, CROWLEY.

grampa really does need a punch to the face, but at the same time... i did feel sorry for him for the first time ever. D:

Oh man. Your thoughts this week are my thoughts. In theory, Cas watching porn sounds hilarious. In practice, not so hilarious.

But badass!Cas. So worth it.

I embarrassingly almost cried when Crowley burned. SO MUCH LOST POTENTIAL, I COULD WEEP.

Also, I'm sure you're brilliant in your field and you'll be getting those calls soon. <3

Cas made this episode really worthy. And I get the porn thing, if they had kept it more subtle, like say... without giving Cas a hard-on and the description of the "plot" and the mentioning it again later on...
Anyway, I love seeing Cas failing at even passing for human, but yeah, squick.
I'm trying to completely ignore the horrible amounts of inappropriate and/or misogynous comments this ep. was riddled with. And failing.
