001. The Serpent Does Not Cook

Never again will I leave the unpacking of my belongings to others, I swear.  Apparently the movers who I entrusted with my possessions seemed to think that my Compendium belonged with the cookbooks for some ungodly reason.  Now why on earth would I look there?  I've been wondering where it was for a good three months now, although I haven't exactly ( Read more... )

I feel justified in saying that you have missed little in your time apart from this book; I am finding it increasingly filled with little other than useless prattle and vanity.

Thank you, I can't begin to tell you how nice it is to be back in a proper city.

At times I really think that they ought to have two separate networks of Compendiums with one reserved for those of us with some passing standard of maturity. Although the rabbit debacle seems to be working out well for me, at least.

Oh, they're nor for me, I could never deal with all that fur getting all over my clothes. But I thought they might make a nice birthday present for my aunt who has a farm upstate and I'd be doing a good deed for the Pentamerone to boot.

I'm hardly a native either (I'm starting to wonder if there even is such a thing) but it's at least much easier to avoid the circus freaks here. I've never been able to understand this whole business of being different just for the sake of being different. Or painting yourself in silver and standing on the corner for tips. It's just odd!
