I can't believe I'm asking  Is anyone particularly familiar with overpriced French wines?  I need to impress a client who apparently will not drink anything that is not from France.  Cachet is apparently more important than taste and yes, I have tried to sell him on the virtues of a quality Napa Cabernet.  If it doesn't start with Chateau, it is ( Read more... )

I'm not sure. Thankfully I'm not being forced to cook, just to entertain a client who is miserable about being stuck in town tonight and apparently feeling spiteful.

He mentioned something about a chateaubriand.

Oh that would be an important detail, wouldn't it? Thankfully a preference for reds might very well be the only thing that Robert and I agree on.

Chateau Petrus? I seem to recall that Hannibal Lecter was quite fond of that particular wine. I'm quite fond of the symbolism. Now, if only I could make sweetbreads out of my client.

Indeed? I wasn't aware of that, though I must say it amuses me. If we could all make sweetbreads out of those who displease us, the world might be a saner place on the whole.
