Have you ever done, or seen someone else do, the following: after being given a challenge for which there must be a response, stepping back and thinking about how to properly answer it? But then, I ask, is there a way to describe the process by which we sort out and ultimately verbalize the answer

That happens to me a lot, but it's usually because I'm restraining myself from physical or verbal violence.
