Is it wrong to love starbucks as much as I do? How many countless hours have I wasted on my laptop sitting in starbucks sipping on a Grande Green Tea frappachino, blogging like a fool, admiring the colorful wall collage, and filtering solemn Indie music through the back of my brain. I blame UTA for starbucks being so damn convenient. A short stroll down asphalt pass the Physics building and into the UC and “AaaaaaA” I hear heavenly singing. A beaming student employee who I share Ancient Life 3300 with Greets me with the usual, “Welcome to Starbucks may I take your order?” by the look in his eye he already knows what im going to order, but he wonders if I am going to change it up today.
I don’t hesitate “Green Tea Frappachino.’
“Tall, Grande, or Venti.”
“Grande”
“That will be $4.26”
I slide him over my Fuchsia Roses Capital One Credit card,
I wait patiently at the end of the counter, watching the crowd grow. Yes getting to starbucks has become a scheduled routine, if your late, your going to meet up with a massive line of antsy college students warping around the UC, bouncing on the balls of their feet, behaving as if their suffering from withdrawal. A chick I had o-chem with two years ago, hands me my Frappacho. I’m all giddy inside because I can anticipate the taste……
Reflecting on the entry tells me I’m suffering from a mild version of withdraw…I guess the only way to cure a yearn is by facing it.
Slurping out of delight. ..
