Have you guys heard this song yet? This is quite an interesting duo of bands. I will post the lyrics later when I find it but what I find more interesting about the video was that there were false news captions showing what they had desired about the outcome of Iraq War and Hurricane Katrina aftermath. The video conveyed the point that a better ( Read more... )

Ever hear "On the Turning Away" by Pink Floyd? I think that fits the theme you're going after.

"The Saints are Coming" is a pretty neat song. I'm actually not sure if it's a remake or not. Anyway, when I first heard it I had trouble distinguishing Billie Joe's voice from Bono's, and it kind of sounded like they had magically blended their voices together (to produce BIJO!). But after I listened to it a few more times I could differentiate between the two of them, thus proving that my initial conclusion was ridiculous.

I don't know what that is supposed to prove.

I checked out the video on YouTube...pretty cool song/video...if only it were that easy *sigh* But as John Lennon once said, "War is over, if you want it"
Anywayz...slastacular, did you first listen to the song on the radio? Billie Joe and Bono's voices do sound similar in the song but still distinguishable...maybe because the video was able to cue me in on who was singing? *shrugs*
But as far as a song to add to the mix...the one that came to mind was "Calling All Angels" by Train. It's a pretty uplifting song.

ROFL Bijo!
Three other great, uplifting songs are Martin Page's "Shape the Invisible" (might be hard to find) and two of the songs off of Phil Collins' "Both Sides" album: The title track and "We Wait and We Wonder." They're basically referring to violence in the '90s UK (when it seemed it WASN'T so united), but are pertinent to a number of trouble spots today.
Cheers for bringing this up, I'll have to give the GD/U2 song a listen
