It always bothers me when people think that eating sushi makes them special. Sure, 20 years ago when it first came to the US it was something that was pretty much totally new to the country. It's old fucking news now. Yes, it's good. No, eating california rolls over and whatever other goofy rolls with cream cheese and other random disgusting

It's group orders done when there are events... So normally I'll eat whatever I brought and have to skip a free meal because of all these pork loving losers

Sushi still is pretty special for large parts of the country, mostly rural areas. Not here so much, but when my sister comes in from Lubbock she always goes straight for the sushi because apparantly they either don't have it there or they have no one who can make it not suck.

Also, most Americans have such a narrow and bland diet - even if they've heard of sushi and it's available, it's not hard to find people who haven't tried it for whatever reason.
