My employer has outsourced many of its contact centres, and this will be a continuing trend for the forseeable future. It's really frustrating my own ambitions at getting a management career started when there is no room in the budget for headcount locally. I have thought on and off over the last five years about setting up some sort of contracting business, but the stuff I'm experienced in is going overseas, so I don't think that will be much help.

Can you ride it out until long service leave? If so, great! If not, start selling pictures of your boobies on the net while looking for a new job.

*chuckles*

I got my long service leave a few weeks ago.

If I get made redundant tomoz, I get 41 weeks of redundancy pay. If I resign, I get only 10 weeks of leave pay.

I'm going to stick it out.

41 weeks? Yeah I'd stick it out as well! Are you going to take the leave or just save it up for a rainy day?

I am going to save it up, but not by choice. I am too busy to take leave.

Yes...41 weeks...I would be foolish indeed to resign. Unfortunately, it also means I have to stay positive lest I lose my job. Erk!
