Just remember your welfare should always come first... though yeah, that would be cool on your resume ;) Though, keep in mind, when you first started there you had at least some time to have a life. It should not be too much to ask to get some of that life back. With a promotion comes responsibility, but also, should come some power to have a life... the way it looks now it's a trickle up effect not a trickle down. My best friend up in Michigan had a programming job (kinda like yours) where he had no life. I was lucky to hang out with him once a month, and it was nothing for him to be sooooo busy that he could not even call to talk for weeks on end. It took several years for us to get him to look for new work. Now he works for a contractor for the US Govt and makes twice what he was and all in a straight 40 (well, they had a system issue once that made him work for like 120 in a week ~ but he got overtime for that ( ... )
