I'm so happy you reposted this!! This fic is funny and warm and cute, but what's really great about it is that Jim never recovers his memories. When I read it for the first time, I kept waiting for the moment when something or someone would trigger Jim's memories because that's where this kind of fic usually goes, and you have no idea how much I love that this never happens. I also love that Jim doesn't really dwell too much on what is lost, but chooses to enjoy the life he has and the new possibilities it will bring him. Jim is so sweet and adorably innocent in this, he melts my heart, and I love how he immediately felt a connection to Spock when he woke up in the woods. When Jim told Spock he knows they loved each other before he lost his memories I teared up along with Jim, and his final conversation with Bones cracked me up :)
Btw, I spotted some missing words/letters here and there:

Anyway. So, I'm glad you're happy I resposted it. The other day, I thought of you and your comment and decided to try and respost some of my other fic.
When I got the request for an amnesia fic, I was originally planning to give him back his memories. But the more I wrote, the more I thought that maybe it would be better if they didn't come back. And I really think that Jim wouldn't really dwell. He's Jim Kirk, after all. That's what I'd like to think I'd do. Like Jim, I'd get sad sometimes about things I don't remember, but I'd like to think I'd accept it ( ... )

I'd love to beta read for you if you need help! (I should tell you that English is not my first language, although I'm usually quite proficient at spotting spelling mistakes and simple grammatical errors).
