It is good time and good place
In this very moment I have 565 sterek fics on my list. The good ones. I have probably at least 300 not so good ones. Anyway, I decided to update my epic rec list (it's gonna take ages, bare with me) and do a "must read" and "just classics" lists as well.
So this is my "Sterek fics you must read no matter what" list!
Adventures and Explorations series by Survivah
1) A Simple Life
Summary: Derek plans to spend the rest of his life holed up in the woods after Laura dies. Then he meets a stubborn young fox, and the stubborn young fox meets an urn of Deaton's magic powder, and his plans change.

It was beautiful. The Little Prince in Teen Wolf version. All the feels.
2) Finding Miracles
Summary: Stiles was planning on just being a fox for his entire life. Then, well, magic, true love, blah blah blah, things got complicated. But as it turns out, he still has a lot to learn about this new world he's living in. Humanity, man. It's weird.
Word count: 17k

Beacon Hills Mysteries by miss_aphelion
1) The Pull of The Tide
Summary: Stiles appears alone at the doors of the emergency room the morning after the full moon, covered in blood with a deep slash torn across his left side. He's suffering from hypovolemic shock and barely conscious and he won't tell anyone what happened-not his hospital appointed psychiatrist, not his father. Not even his pack.
The list of suspects is disconcertedly short. There were only seven others in the woods with Stiles that night: Derek, Scott, Boyd, Erica, Isaac, Jackson and Allison. And none of them remember the night in quite the same way.

It was BRILLIANT! There was a mystery, one big mystery, tension was mounting with every word and characeters were written perfectly. As well as whole intrygue. Really, one of the most interesting and well written fics I've read in this fandom!
2) The Lure of the Moon by miss_aphelion
Summary: Stiles hasn't come home. The Sheriff and Stiles have an agreement: Stiles is home before midnight every night, and he doesn't have to haul Derek Hale back to jail. So he drives out to the Hale house to drag his wayward son home-only thing is, it's not there anymore. What little had been left of it is laid flat across its foundations, and in the middle of it all, half buried beneath old burned out drywall, is Stiles' Jeep.

Another brilliant story, how this author is doing that!
3) The Tricks of the Trade
Summary: Stiles learns about negative space in sixth period Art Survey. It reminds him of Peter, who seems to only ever fill in the parts of himself that he wants people to see. It's easy to forget about the negative space, and miss seeing the whole picture.
Then again, Peter is a mystery Stiles isn't sure he should solve.
Word count: 7k
Very interesting Peter, I love this characterisation! And I love the idea of him teaching Stiles!

Summary: “We had to splint a girl’s leg in a ditch,” Scott says excitedly.

Too bad it turns out Derek is easier to get along with when he’s sleeping.

Humor was so great I don’t even know what to say. I love this fic, even if I was a little bit disappointed how fast it ended! Also, Laura in this fic? Being a sarcastic badass lawyer? So cool. And Stiles, I just can’t, he was perfect. Definitely one of my favorites fics!

1) Just Act Normal
Summary: If someone had told Stiles back in high school that he would be an Oscar winning actor by the time he turned 25, he would’ve probably told Scott to punch them. The thing is, though…they would’ve been right. Which makes returning to Beacon Hills, center of all that is supernatural and better left avoided, all the more awkward.
