Font is quite deprecated... as in, you're not supposed to use it anymore. If you want to change a font without defining a whole class, you use something like "span style="color:red". Now it's semantically correct... but as it turns out, most people who learn HTML these days still learn something along the lines of HTML 3.2. That's from 1996 or something.
This doesn't somehow limit your ability to style your document. CSS is much more powerful than font ever was.
