Many people are aware (and partake) on various dating sites... plentyoffish, tagged, hotornot, etc... different sites with 'meet me' ideas... to where people can express a desire to meet or show an interest.  I understand that people have 'self esteem' issues and what not but what really gets me are married, engaged and taken people that

yeah, it makes no sense to me either why involved people would do that...what's the point of being in the relationship if they're still looking? but worse, why anyone else would bother getting involved with someone already attached is beyond me...

Speaking from a woman's point of view, the reason why you see so many lovely women on dating sites is because they sometimes would rather meet people this way than "going out there"...there are a lot of creeps wandering about out in public and it's a lot easier to ignore them on a website than face-to-face. there could be many other factors involved as well...such as self-esteem, shyness, etc. and then there are the women who just crave the attention so they put their ads up to receive praise from men they never intend on responding to...and that's pretty annoying.

yeah but when the 'normal guy' sends a message he will never get a response lol... i know that there are those out there with shyness, self esteem and confidence issues... i have a lot of those same issues

i would love to find me a nice attractive woman to spend some time with...

i would love to win the lottery as well...

that's not necessarily true about normal guys...sometimes they do get a response...but perhaps slightly less often than less-normal guys bc there's nothing intriguing about them? ladies usually want someone they have something in common with and also someone who might introduce them to something new and exciting.

best of luck finding someone great. it is possible. and it's a lot like winning the lottery. ;)

ill be honest... between my surgery recovery and then my upcoming deployment... im really not holding my breath to find someone. And yes... the 'its like winning the lottery' is a brilliant analogy. I just dont see myself as one who stands out... so who knows lol...

I never heard of "hot or not" or bangme.net until I met you and I was in a commited relationship....with you,Chris. It did boost my confidence and I never let it go to my head. Now I cringe when I think about being on those sites.
